Silver-plated Argands
England
Circa 1815
This pair of silver-plated argand lamps exemplifies a rare and early form of argand lighting. With beautiful cast foliate decoration, the finials, tanks, standards, arms, and burner mechanisms appear to be identical to those on the lamp illustrated in McClelland’s Duncan Phyfe and the English Regency 1795-1830.
