About Charles Clark
Charles Clark is a purveyor on fine formal American antiques of the Classical period, 1810-1840, with an emphasis on condition and quality. Regency lighting, appropriate to American interiors of the period, comprise most of the inventory of decorative appointments. Antique upholstery pieces are offered newly covered following meticulous research that has established proper period application techniques. Mr. Clark’s classical furniture is presented in the manner the maker originally intended. Attention to historical accuracy of any pieces needing restoration is performed by expert restoration associates using period old-world care and techniques. In addition, clocks, porcelain, mirrors, sculpture, and parian ware of the period are offered.
Since 1991, Charles Clark has exhibited at antiques shows throughout the south and northeast placing pieces in fine private collections and with institutions including Winterthur Museum, The Dallas Museum of Art, The Valentine, and The Carnegie Museum of Art.
