Regency Argands

England
Circa 1820
Attributed to Messenger & Phipson

In a patinated and gilt-lacquered finish, this beautiful pair of argands are of the highest quality. The fonts are decorated with gadrooning and applied classical mounts. The chimney holders are adorned with cast leaves. Above drum shaped bases, opposing eagles are ready to take flight from outcrops of rock. The plinths are raised on winged feet and many fine details are found on the bases including mounts of cornucopia and classical masks.
