This large parian figure depicts a partially clothed lady sitting on a outcrop of rocks with a stork standing beside her. The piece was issued by the Art Union of London as a prize in 1852. The front of the base is impressed: SOLITUDE. On the back of the base, it is impressed: J. LAWLOR / Sculp. and ART-UNION / OF / LONDON / 1852.
