This figure of Psyche is sometimes confused with Pandora because she carries a box. Noted in mythology in her journey to Hades, Psyche retrieved a bit of Persephone’s beauty and put it in a box that Aphrodite had given her. This figure of Psyche was traditionally paired with a figure portraying Eros. See inventory (P-224).
