From The Parian Phenomenon “Issued in Parian in c. 1857 from a marble original exhibited at the Glasgow Royal Academy in 1855 and again at the Royal Scottish Academy in 1863, the property of W. Wilson Esq. of Banknoch. Corinna of Tanagra was a lyric poetess of the 6th century B.C. of whose work only fragments survive. According to tradition she was the teacher of Pindar.”
