This fabulous pair of Regency figures with lamps was executed in the renowned manufactory of the plaster modeler Humphrey Hopper. Each figure is inscribed by the maker. The left figure is inscribed July 6th 1807 H. Hopper London and the inscription on the back of the robe of the right figure reads Pub.d Sep.t 18th 1807 / H. Hopper Sculpt.r / London. Each beautifully modeled drapery figure holds an urn that supports a fine argand lamp. The fonts of the lamps are fluted above and below a bold Greek key band.
