Forefathers at Plymouth

A Statuette of the National Monument to the Forefathers at Plymouth: In 1850, the Pilgrim Society resolved to erect an appropriate monument to the Pilgrims. The finished monument was dedicated on August 1, 1889. One of twenty-four, this statuette was given to Elisha Brewster, a donor who made a significant contribution to the raising of the Monument. At the top stands Faith pointing heavenward. The four-seated figures represent Morality, Education, Law, and Liberty.
