Classical Armchairs

Armchairs are rare forms in American furniture. This elegant pair of armchairs have curved rectilinear foliate-carved crests above carved medials with scrolling arms on saber legs. These have been covered in a red Scalamandre silk, which was also used in the Red Room at the White House.
