Argand Torcheres

England
Circa 1825
Perry & Company

The large two-light argands are secured to each pedestal by a bayonet fitting under the lamp. The fonts are concealed within the domes. A gilt-lacquered stamped brass band decorated with floral and foliate motifs encircles the dome. The front of the lamp is adorned with a cast mask of a classical maiden. The base is supported by three large lion’s paws. The fluted standard emerges from four large stylized leaves. A tag on the burner tube of each lamp reads: PERRY & Co./72/NEW BOND ST.
