Classical Nesting Tables
New York
Circa 1835
Sets of American nesting tables are quite uncommon. The tops of these tables are constructed of solid mahogany boards with figuring usually associated with the finest veneer work. The upright supports are unique undulating designs which diminish in width as each table reduces in size. There is a Gothic-shaped cutout at the top of each upright that also gets smaller on each table. The feet are depicted as elongated animal paws raised on small bun shaped pads.
