A Regency Suspended Argand

England
Circa 1820

This elegant diminutive suspended argand is presented in a beautiful patinated and gilt-lacquered finish. The link and ring chains are attached to chain holders cast as classical masks with snakes. A pair of cast falcons ornament the body of the lamp and lobed drip cups decorate the burner tubes. This model is unique in the way that the burners are positioned on the sides of the lamp instead of being contained within the body.
