A Regency Sinumbra
England
Circa 1830

The unique design of this handsome lamp is achieved by composing the standard of a tapering organic stem ornamented with five pairs of leaves in graduated sizes. The base is made up of a four-sided plinth of cast branches, leaves, tendrils, and clusters of berries. It is complimented by a beautiful cut and frosted shade. A pair of identical lamp bases without their period shades, fonts, and chimneys can be seen in the Palm Room at Spencer House in London.
