A Regency Library Chair

Attributed to Gillows
This Regency library chair is attributed to Gillows based on known stamped examples. The front of the chair is framed with carved and molded rosewood ending with leaf-like carving at the top of the arms. Offering comfortable seating, the chair retains its original hair seat cushion still displaying its first tufting pattern. It is raised on bold reeded legs which terminate with large ferrules and casters finished in gilt-lacquered finishes.
