A Pair of Regency Sinumbras
England
Circa 1825
This rare pair of figural sinumbras depict Nike, the Greek goddess of Victory. Outstretched arms support a cast basket holding clusters of grapes. The shaped plinths are adorned with swags of grape leaves centering grape clusters. Fine frosted and cut glass period shades top the figures. The beautiful two-tone gilt-lacquered finishes distinguish these fine examples of Regency lighting.
