A Pair of Regency Argands

England
Circa 1820

This is one of the finest pair of argand lamps that I have had the pleasure of offering. The fonts are decorated with gilt reeded bands and an exceedingly fine stamped brass collars. The arms have cast floral connections and foliate drip cups. Decorative brass galleries on the foliate shade holders are designed to accommodate chimney shades. On each lamp, just above a large patinated prism ring is a patinated and gilt collar surrounding a bayonet fitting for the upper part of the lamp. Each beautifully cast base is raised on a square patinated plinth with cast foliate feet with gilt lacquered finishes.
