A Pair of Regency Argands

England
Circa 1810

Aside from the silver-plated lamps, these are some of the earliest argand lamps produced in England. Tall and elegant, the fonts are adorned with anthemia. The three-sided bases are decorated with lions’ heads holding gilt rings in their mouths and are supported by lion’s paw feet. The bands forming the base are engine turned.
