A Pair of Classical Games Tables

Boston, Massachusetts
Circa 1820

This handsome pair of games tables exhibits the quality of materials and construction found on the best Boston examples. The table tops are highly figured solid mahogany boards and the conforming aprons are cove-shaped. Upswept sabre legs support the tables and are attached to large ebonized spheres. Each leg is decorated with concentric graduated rosettes at the top and end in a cast foliate brass toe-cap and caster with a two-tone gilt-lacquered finish.
