A Classical Pier Table
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Circa 1835
This fine pier table is topped with a Carrara marble. The scrolling ornaments are adorned with powdered and gilded stencil motifs. The sides of the scrolls are decorated with foliate carved ovals with original gold leaf. Gadrooning adorns the front of the platform. The original mirror is surrounded by stenciled decoration. The feet are nicely turned, carved, and gilded.
