A Classical Center Table
Boston
Circa 1825
Attributed to Shop of Isaac Vose & Son
Recently, Boston Classical furniture scholars Robert D. Mussey, Jr. and Clark Pearce have concluded that this table can be attributed to the work of Isaac Vose & Son. Concurring that the carving on the base and legs is the richest they have seen on this type of table, they also believe that the carving is by Thomas Wightman. The table is pictured on p.166 of their book, Rather Elegant Than Showy The Classical Furniture of Isaac Vose.
