Presented in an overall patinated finish, this pair of Regency candlesticks is marked by the manufacturer on the cast iron base weight: PUBLISHED / MESSENGER / & SONS. The candle cup is identical to one on other Messenger attributed fixtures. A lotus petal design is used for the prism ring and the standard is composed of cast acanthus leaves. A pair of dolphins bracket either side of the standard. The rectangular plinth is supported by four turtles.
