A Classical Center Table

Boston, Massachusetts
Circa 1830

This handsome Classical center table is topped by a beautifully veined grey marble. The conforming apron is surrounded by crotch mahogany veneers.  A large tapering standard rests on a three-sided plinth with concave sides. The table is supported by three large foliate-carved scrolled feet on original concealed casters. All of these elements combine to create a quintessential Classical Boston form.
